1. Services included

The Grant Application Hub (building grant and rebate applications) and the Municipal Help Desk (logging municipal service issues such as billing disputes, water leaks, and payment arrangement requests) are free to use, including downloading your case as a ready-to-submit PDF. Adding a caseworker means Muni Assist submits your paperwork and follows up with the City on your behalf, for a monthly fee.

2. Authorisation to act on your behalf

By adding a caseworker, you authorise Muni Assist to communicate with the City of Cape Town, submit the documents you upload, and represent your case details accurately as provided by you, for the sole purpose of progressing your grant applications and municipal issues.

3. Billing

Your caseworker fee is collected monthly via PayFast debit order. Muni Assist tracks your caseworker status and billing dates directly — PayFast only processes the actual charge. You can view your billing history and cancel at any time from Membership & Payments in your account.

4. Cancellation

Cancelling stops your next debit order and ends caseworker help going forward — the free tools remain available to you regardless. Cases already submitted to the City remain on record, and you can add a caseworker again at any time without losing your case history.

5. Document handling

Documents you upload (ID copies, proof of income, municipal statements, photos) are stored securely and only used for the case they were submitted against, and only shared with the municipality as part of that specific application or issue.
